The Start of World War One Remembered at the Lunch Club Wednesday 6th August 2014
Along with many organisations throughout the Nation South Aston Lunch Club held an event to remember the sacrifices made by our relatives and fellow citizens in the dreadful calamity which we refer to as World War One.
Fittingly our rememberance took the form of a typical meal that the troops may have had prior to leaving for 'The Front'.
It was faggots, mash and mushy peas followed by bread pudding and custard.
Prior to tucking in to this hearty meal
Rev. Peter Little took a rememberance service and afterwards Joan led us in some lusty singing of well known songs from that era. Memories indeed.
