Body Mind & Spirit Exhibition
South Aston Church - Working With Older People
Celebrating Together
Our Working with Older People Project is one of 12 similar church-based projects under the umbrella of the Body, Mind & Spirit Partnership. Our Development Workers meet regularly at Partnership Meetings and training sessions but on Tuesday 27th September, we all got together to celebrate our outreach, our activities and all those who participate in our various projects in any way.
A 'Celebrating Together' event was organised at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church in Bournville, which is a very beautiful church. All the individual projects had colourful and informative stands which showed the activities that they offer and there was a lot of sharing of information and ideas. There was a buffet lunch and presentations from a representative of Birmingham City Council (who fund us all) and Body, Mind & Spirit Managers, followed by a video and interviews with participants of some of the activities across the city who were keen to tell us of the benefits they have gained from their involvement.
There was a great attendance - possibly over 100 people came along and all in all, it was a very enjoyable, positive, and encouraging day.
