A Special Lunch Club on Wednesday 4th October
I took a phone call from David last week in which he said
"If would like to come to the Lunch Club on Wednesday 4th I can promise you a rollicking good time!". Or words to that affect.
How could one refuse such an invitation? I thought that is was so good I collected my good friend John Purchase on the way.
And we were not disappointed. Not only was there the usual delicious two course meal but there was also spectacular entertainment in the form (what an appropriate word) of Ms Kelly Jean.
Kelly entertained us with renditions of songs from the 60s and 70s.
It wasn't just a static performance, she gyrated as she sang.
The music and atmosphere that she generated encouraged many to discard their walking sticks, frames and wheel chairs, with gay abandon, to dance in the aisles. Therapeutic it certainly was!
Just in case you think that I might be exaggerating here are some photos -
