Lunch Club members' Stories Project
I visited the Aston Heritage Day event at South Aston on Saturday
13th June and found Ellen and Dave Kendrick's daughter, Anna, working on a project in the Large Hall.
I asked her what it was and she told me it was a new 'Collage' project for the members of the 'Lunch Club'. It is based on the 'Members' Stories' which have featured on the website in recent years.
Below are a couple of photos just to whet your appetite for when the total project is revealed.

Winnie Langford
Whilst writing I feel that I should record the sad news that one of the Lunch Club members, who submitted one of the stories referred to above, passed away recently.
Winnie was an ebullient character, it is unlikely that you would have missed her if you attended either the Lunch Club or the History Group meetings.
She may have been confined to a wheel chair and not in the best of health but she always had a ready word laced with good humour. I certainly will miss her. I understand that her funeral is to be held at St George's Church, Newtown, on Tuesday 23rd June at 12.45pm, Phone Dave Kendrick for further details. St. George's address is -
  • St George's Church and Community Center,
  • Bridge Street West, Newtown
  • Birmingham
  • West Midland
  • B19 2YX
