In March 2020 we started a new activity group on Tuesdays and several of the ladies started knitting colourful blankets to be donated to a charity. Unfortunately we had only been meeting for two weeks when we went into Lockdown.
Undaunted, the ladies carried on knitting away at home and recently decided they would like to donate the blankets to a charity supporting people from Ukraine.
By coincidence, Daniel, who is Polish, and who we have known for a while at South Aston, has recently returned to Poland. On a brief trip back to England he called in and we asked if they would be of use and he took all 15 for Ukrainian people who have fled to Poland.
Last week he came back again to tell us that they had all been snapped up immediately and more would be welcome.
