SOUTH ASTON UNITED REFORMED CHURCH
Minister: Rev. Peter Little
Upper Sutton Street, Aston, Birmingham, B6 5BN
0121 327 6364 (Church) 0121 551 0077 (Minister)
In these difficult times, we just wanted to send a note to say hello and let you know what is currently happening at the Church. The attached documents give more detail.
As you are aware, the Church buildings are closed at the moment following advice from the Government and the URC. However, this does not mean that “Church” has stopped!! On the contrary, we are as always, very active!
Our staff are in the main working from home, visiting the Church as necessary. David Kendrick is cooking and delivering hot meals to our most vulnerable, 3 days per week. He is helped to deliver these meals by Peter, and our caretaker Buyisile has been doing some of the cooking. ‘B’ is also continuing to check on the building and keep the garden under control!!
As you are aware, the AGM should have taken place on Sunday 3rd May 2020. This also had to be cancelled because of Coronavirus. However, the annual report has been prepared and is available to email, have a copy printed and delivered or viewed at Church. If you would like a copy, please leave a message on the Church phone,
0121 327 6364 and this will be organised for you.
The report attached brings you up to date on the latest that is happening, and which would have been presented to Church Meeting. Elders’ are planning to have a virtual meeting in May, using Zoom software, and Buildings and Finance Meetings will take place as necessary using this method. Ann is also planning to resume bible study using Zoom shortly.
May I take this opportunity to wish you and your families all the very best during this difficult time. Stay safe and if you need anything at all, please contact us either on the Church phone, 0121 327 6364, or on Peter’s number at the manse, which is 0121 551 0077.
